Ok, moving out of our rental and need to clean up a few things. Any handy tips on:
1. Cleaning marks off of a painted wall (scuffs etc)
2. Cleaning the trays from the oven. They are not that bad but just need a good scrub. Whats the best product.
Many thanks.

2) Brillo pad and elbow grease (comes in a tube I think)

Wouldn't bother. Most stories i hear are old tenants getting ripped a new one by the landlords regardless of how clean people leave the flats.
Save yourself the bother and leave it. There going to withhold the deposit anyway.
I disagree. Leave it in the condition you would want to find it as a new tenant. Take some pics as you leave if you're worried about being ripped off by your landlord.Save yourself the bother and leave it. There going to withhold the deposit anyway.
A few years ago we moved from rented accomodation to our first house.
We kept the place reasonably clean - but got a firm in to do a full clean. They guaranteed their work. Would you believe it? The Landlord called me up unhappy - I called the firm - and they went back in to fix it. I got every penny of my deposit back bar a few quid to pay for a lampshade that was broken.
In my experience an agency will be very, very picky. But it IS possible, with care, to get the vast majority of the deposit back.
The reason I paid for the cleaning instead of doing it ourselves was because the stress of moving INTO a new property was bad enough without the stress of moving OUT as well. Cost around £150 IIRC. Would be more like £200 these days.

If they're anything like the letting agents doing mine then you have nothing to worry about. They showed me a property recently that they'd never even been in before and soon discovered it was filthy and falling apart....nice.
When I moved into my flat they got me to fill out an inventory and list any damage etc so I made sure I was very thorough so if they had any problems when I move out I can refer them back to that.

Depends on how dirty the rest of the oven is but someone like http://www.ovenclean.com/ will leave it as good as new. Nothing like moving into a place that has a manky oven. Uurgh!ETA - should cost about £30 from memory.
