Hi guys,
Cant get on SELOC at the moment so thought i would post over here first. Probably going to put new shocks on my Elise over the next month or so and "may" change the suspension bushes. Now i know i can get:

Option One
http://www.eliseparts.com/shop/index.php?main_page...

Option Two
http://www.eliseparts.com/shop/index.php?main_page...

However a number of people have suggested that the OEM Lotus ones are just as good, so i called Lipscomb this morning and apparently you cant buy the bushes from lotus, they only come with a new wishbone.....

Is this the case?

Also recommendations on route to go.

Cheers

Hello Damien

You can buy the bushes directly from Lotus, I got a set for my S1, when I did the suspension rebuilt.
Just call B&C parts and they will order them for you and dont forget to ask for your Seloc discount. wink

I had Nylatrons on my S2 and they made the car much more direct but the ride got worse and noisier. smash
They also need some maintanance, in the form of regular re-greasing and they are trickier to fit properly in the 1st place.

IIRC you dont do many trackdays so, I would fit a set of standard bushes, which are fit and forget and good enough for many tenths of K miles.

Trackday/race car Nylatrons.
Mixed use: Std set of Lotus bushes thumbup

as said, for a predominatly road car stick with OEM ones...

there are 3 different bushes used as the lower rear ones have two smaller bushes in the front and the rear top one is a different stiffness, all the rest are the same.

complete set is something like £200 from Lotus

Paul at B&C came back to me similar sort of money to the others. They dont come as a set though so had to price them up for me.

I bought a set of Polyeurethane bushes earlier this year for about £140 (I can't remember where from though, but when you can get onto Seloc if you do a search you'll find an approriate thread). I think Eliseshop also sell the Poly bushes too.
I still haven't fitted them yet and my main reason for buying them was that they are supposed to be 'better' than oe but easier to fit than Nylatron and not have the adverse effects on ride. I also want to see the differences for myself.

I thought that one location at the front has a different bush in?

I am in the middle of going the whole hog in refreshing my car.

That is a good diagram as it shows you fron which end to insert the bush.

The part numbers have changed since. I'll see if I can cross reference them.
