I'm wondering if somebody might have an idea how to do this. I bought a coat last weekend, and for some stupid reason I didn't see a stupid looking "skull" silicone/rubber print on the shoulder area of the coat.

Since I bought it from a factory outlet, there is no chance of returning it so I'm wondering if there is anyway of removing it from the coat?

The fabric it is printed on is cotton...

Any ideas?

Keep in mind, my print is very small. About 2" x 1".....

We used to use dry cleaning fluid (Tetrachloroethylene) to remove unwanted prints when I was a t-shirt printer. I believe that it has now been banned and replaced with perchloroethelene.

It might work, it might not as we always used it before the inks were 'set'.

With over a thousand posts in just six months, the new PH generation clearly isn't what it used to be.

Can you not get a "reasonable" answer to a reasonable question any more without bored time-wasters putting all sorts of trash on your posts any more? rolleyes

Aha! A good answer! Thank you! wink

Can this damage the original fabric or cause discolouration?

You'll be wanting to try it on a non-visible bit first but it never used to. Might be worth finding out if there is a t-shirt printing shop near you.

Just caught up with this.

Beanbag. I feel awful.

Sometimes its easy to get caught up in the crass monkey tennis which bounces around some of these threads. Its easy to forget what internet forums should be all about, -support, generosity of time and advice. And sincerity.

With banter mode blindly engaged, I realise that my posts on this thread weren't funny, and that I did waste your time. I denegrated the proud PistonHeads tradition. A tradition I have no right to tamper with given my embryonic membership status.

Never again will I try to be so flippant and 'jokey' to a man who has endured the trauma and anguish of unwittingly buying a jacket with a small unwanted rubberised logo which was so cruelly hidden from view during its purchase.

By suggesting that the logo could be removed with a hammer, and later, a cheese grater was offensive and disrespectful. I should have googled some safe but abrasive chemicals like the rest.

Amen.
