With the big drops in house values continuing is it reasonable to expect rents to landlords also drop?

No, because the cost of borrowing and ownership has gone up...

I'm considering putting the rent up on the flat I have due to increase in mortgage costs. This is on top of the increase in rent I made in March.

Less people buying, more people renting, should go someway to pushing up the cost of renting. I am certain it won't cover losses in capital on the properties though.

All my flats rents have been upped by about 10% in the last 2 months.

If you dont want to rent, go get a flipping mortgage, oh sorry you cant.

Thought the rental market was drying up and loads of landlords overstretched to make payments on thier BTL mortgages. Just seems to me that those that rent would be shopping about for cheaper rents? Or do'es the renting market not work like that? Just curious

Our rent hasnt changed since we moved in in 2004.

Next month we're having double glazing put in, throughout.

Mortgage costs have increased but oversupply is still an element.

Our Landlord is very good but then he's not had a void period of more than a week in 10 years and I can understand why.

And all those people that are holding off buying... oh they must be living in public toilets.

I have been so lucky in finding a Landlady who hasn't raised my rent for 5 years.
