ARE TOYO R888 WORTH THE MONEY
Discussion
How many track days have you done? how competent a driver are you. If not many then get some experiance of fast track driving first. No point wearing out a decent set of tyres whilst learning.
If you are experianced and can drive very well and at the point where the car needs to be adjusting and not your driving to go an quicker then yes they will lower your lap times.
Very good tyres indeed.

We all think we are great at driving until you see the pro`s or been in there car. I have a couple of days under my belt and a 3rd booked.
Just trying to get the best advice possible from a wide range of people

'R' tyre = 'R' rated Toyo R888's, Pilot cup sports, A048's, Do1J, that sort of thing.
How long they will last will depend on how you drive and whether you intend to leave them on the car for road use as well as track. I put a set on the bmw at the beginning of the year. I've done Bedford, Silverstone, Cadwell, couple of sessions at castle Combe plus around 1200 road miles and they are pretty well worn. I will probably get another one day out of them but the car will have to come home on the trailer.
They are great in the dry, fine in the damp, ok in the wet but dangerous in standing water.

It really is impossible to say. Will you be out much in the car during the day, do you drive hard, how far will you be driving too and from the circuits? Do you run any camber? What tracks, some are harder on tyres than others, what car / weight.
My initial reaction is a big fat NO, you will not get 10 days from them. I have done 3 hard days a couple of short sessions and some pottering round. I will get one more hard day out of mine and that will be that. Mine is an E30 325
They come with less tread than road tyres from new too.
