I drive from Brum to use Ewaelme.

They're very good, not sure about them being the cheapest, but if you want a good job done, I'd reccomend them.

sorry to go off topic but you mention the tvr logo on the spokes. can you get new ones or copies of these as mine are faded and barely noticeable, would like to bring them back to life.

If they are available you can have the wheel refurbed and apply a new transfer. however, if its only lacquer peel on the rim im sure they could rub that back and blend the lacquer in over the old stuff then cut it back.

Craig,

I had a Halcyon Midas Pearl Cerb, and i used Ewelme to rectify a rear scuff. I must say the work they did was excellent. Highly recommended.

As for wheel refurb, not sure if local to you, but Pristine Wheels in Woburn Sands do an excellent job.

For wheel repairs I used Lepsons in Swindon, 5 mins from Junc 16. They are at 7 Callenders, Paddington Drive, SN5 7YW, 01793 887222,

They repainted all mine plus a kerbing repair for £50+vat per wheel

Paint seems cheap when compared with spectraflair at £500/litre

Craig said:
well the quote came back from Ewelme for the paintwork - £650!

seems a bit steep to me - to repair a 3 inch crack and chip in the paint

the paint alone is £160+VAT!

does this sound about right?

Craig
sounds expensive to me

Hard to say if £650 is expensive, without seeing the damage, but a Crack in Fibreglass needs repairing properly, any garage can do a cheap quick 'Fill and Paint job', so check that they are experienced in F'glass repairs.
Paint can easily be a £160 a litre, but a standard Metallic basecoat should be about £50 odd(and the same for the lacquer - plus thinners and hardener of course!).

Craig, which panel / panels are they painting.

Ewelme don't mess about with masking tape, when they painted my car, amongst other things, they took the rear screen out smile

Hi Craig.... Does sound slightly heavy... But has John told you which bit he intends to paint. I can't see him painting a 6" scratch. I'd imagine he's going to go back to XYZ to blend the new paint in for you.

Not sure what your stone chips are like, but if they're bad, it might be worth asking him for a price. I don't think he charges a lot more than that for a front end smile
