I want to have either a long jacket/poncho to stuff in my bag incase it rains ( only a 2 miles commute to the station but I have to sit on the tube for an hour after, don;t want to be too wet.)

I would like it to be as small as possible really.

Any recommendations ?

Just seen this

Look a tt but hopefully this type of thing would keep me dry, figured clip it some how to the carrier at the back and front to try and keep the legs dry.

not sure if this helps, but I saw a guy riding through the city last night holding an umbrella - although I doubt it kept his legs dry...

Goretex paclite trousers and jacket. Not cheap but folds down the size of a large bad of crisps.

For a couple of quid I would try that & see if it works, esp as its only a couple of miles.

Though you will look like a tourist at a theme park smile
