Focus 1.6 zetec injectors?

Car is a 02 plate with 85k miles on it. TBH it has been poorly maintained and recently when going over bumps the speedo drops to zero, the odometer goes blank and it seems to lose a bit of power or gets slight 'kangaroo petrol'. This only lasts a few seconds before its ok again.

Now this afternoon the engine warning light has come on, which means 'take it to ford dealer' doesn't say not to drive it unless it starts to flash. The top end is also sounding very tappety which it didn't do before, could it be something to do with the injectors as I've heard people say the switches or something on them can start to stick.

Could these 2 problems be related, possibly electrical or ECU fault?

Sounds like 2 seperate things, could be wrong type of oil and speed sensor

i may be wrong, did i ever hear somewhere there was a problem with the dash panel connections giving syptoms similar to the problems your having? not sure on this tho, also have you checked your oil lately,

Yeah I saw that thing on watchdog a bit ago, thought it could be that but when this other thing started I thought the 2 could be related. Think it said just remove the instrument panel and spray it with WD40 and it'll be ok again, for a short time at least.

Oil level is fine, its the 1st hing I checked, it most probably needs an oil change though!

Also, its my mothers car, she doesn't seem to understand the benefits of routine maintenance!
