Audi Allroad 2.7T any good?
Discussion
Hi,
I've been thinking about an Allroad 2.7T manual for a while as out here in California, where I find myself now, they can be had for quite cheap (around £5k).
However, nobody here seems to have a good word to say about them. The air suspension bags and compressor fail, they piss fluids, all the dash electrics go wrong. etc.
Anyone got any experience of running high miles in one of these?

So you base your car purchasing decision completely on the views of a few keyboard warriors then? The 2/7T is not that bad - its the same basic engine as used in the 2000-2002ish Audi S4.
However, I suggest you stop messing around and get a proper engined version - they did the 4.2 V8 in an A6 Allroad out there too (Colleague had one). Cruising on the freeway won't kill the mpg too much.

I've run a 2.5TDI from 25,000 to 60,000 miles in three years. Faultless. Never had any of the problems of which you speak .. hadn't heard of any problems ... get it checked over and warrantee'd. Superb vehicle. There was a story doing the forums that leaving the air suspension on the lowest setting all the time could cause the bags to leak. But if you leave it on auto-level the lowest setting only comes on at high speed.I've been thinking about an Allroad 2.7T manual for a while as out here in California, where I find myself now, they can be had for quite cheap (around £5k).
