Going to Prague next weekend, for 5 days.
It falls on a friends 21st whilst we're over there.
We're all 20-22 & apart from the obvious, drinking loads of czech cheap beer, what else is there to do?
Nighclubs / Stip clubs / Things to see / something different etc etc etc.

Went there for a stag party and was told by our guide to avoid anyone black in the town center. We thought she was just being racist, but once we had been into town, we realised it was unfortunate but solid advice.

IIRC triple AAA taxis were the best, taking one back to our flat from the town center was about 150-200 crowns, the other licensed taxis were up to 500 for the same trip on their meter.

Beautiful city and we didn't have any problems, but as a group of drunken lads you will be hassled.

Drinking is the name of the game. We went for a bit of a wander around when we 1st got there, god knows where we ended up but it was as rough as you like. we hopped on the nearest tram and made our way into the centre.

Do not venture to the outskirts.

Had my best ever drinking holiday in Prague, fk knows how we survived, 10 days of drinking from 10am, oh the joys of youth and the single life!!

You will have a ball. Mind you I imagine it has changed a bit in 10 years.

Lol we're staying in the centre, we booked an apartment as it was cheaper than a 4* hotel.
It's a really nice apartment with all the mod cons.
We'll do the standard trekking round the city during the day.
I like the idea of these beer halls & apparently some of these strip clubs that involve jacuzzi's & stuff?!

For Christ sake stay away from th e"dodgy looking" cluns.
You go in, ask for a beer, then you get a bill for £500 for drinks and girls.
It does happen, happened to my mate...and the y nicked his phone and gave him a slap.
Just go to the bars that are busy and you'll be fine.
We were there for NYE a few years back...brilliant.

Got a mate who lives there - with an invitation to visit at any time. Need to give him a call to set up a long weekend.

yes I was there 8 years ago on business, fantastic place! Though sadly I hear that it has changed alot, as has the locals opinion of the English which is sad in itself.

Oh good, another trip by the Brits to a wonderful city for a piss up and an opportunity to re-inforce the wonderful image we have when travelling.

Not a kill-joy at all but I do feel sorry for the locals.

Dahling Boom Boom (real name!) was the best one we went into, non-skanky women. The rest were rubbish and if your lucky you will be offered to 'smoke some dwarf pussy'! thumbup

1. It is the most expensive city I have ever been to - food is overpriced and awful (unless you like pork, dumplings and cabbage)
2. Strip clubs = brothels upstairs and almost everything is for sale (including, I gather, the dwarves. God help us!)

Tip; the Sterling/Czeck Krona exchange rate is terrible - 25Kr to the pound, but if you get to Prague you will find that 1 Euro also buys you 25Kr!! So buy Euros and take them instead

We found the food basic but fine. We would get a wooden plate with a joint of meat, lump of bread and a dollop of mustard, washed down with a 30p pint. What can possibly top that?!

It was 2003 or 2004. The place was like a huge beer tent on a main road just outside the main city. However, we also found that buying beer from all the street traders was about 40-50p a pint. Things must have changed a bit since then?

yes We went back a couple of weeks ago. When we were there at the same time as you (03 or 04), £1 per pint was expensive. Now £1 per pint is cheap if you stay near the centre.

When I first went in 2000 you could get a pint for 20p

In 2005-6 the stag do crowds were established and girlie bars had popped up everywhere. Beer was more like UK prices (or more) in the centre.
