Like many others i nearly fell into the "too good to be true" trap this week. Jaguar XJR for sale at 1/4 of the asking price ( y didnt i realise) thick ba****d!!! Any way have just read your fraud page, and i am still worried. You say only beleive e-mails sent from pistonheads.com. Im sorry boys but i got these e-mails from the blaggers ending pistonheads.com so you must try harder.

They must have cloned your site or are a little too clever.

The site hasn't been cloned, you've just fallen victim (almost) to one of the most common scams out there; car slightly too good to be true, and a thin veil of authenticity on behalf of the scammer. I'd be really grateful if you could send me copies of the emails for our records, but to be honest it is incredibly easy to generate an email from a pistonheads.com email address (just as it is from a bbc.co.uk address, or any other for that matter) if you know how.

For the record, we will never send an email address to you selling a car from a pistonheads.com address. If you receive one from a seller of a car, it will not be genuine just because it has our website name in the address.
