GP Sea Hawk, are they any good/worth anything. Got a chance of getting one at a decent price.

EDITED TO ADD;
I know GP have made some great watches and still do, but I dont want to spend what I'm being told is a good price when it might not be if that makes sense.

Are they any good: Top class watches with unparalleled attention to detail. Pretty much universally admired.

Chance of getting a decent price: Not seen many as GP protect their market quite fiercely. This plays into your hands in resale values but doesn't help you straight away.

These are definitely my grail watches so maybe I'm biased...

Turns out the deal was not really a deal! It was a friend of a friend trying to look like Billy Big Potates!

Any way have an appointment next week at Jura to look at a new Sea Hawk 2 demo watch they are getting into show me. They reckon if I want one would be the end of November. Will let you know how I get on.

Looks like Rolex Seadweller Deepseas are being priced more realisticly so I might have a look at one of them somewhere too. Even though I reckon the Sea Hawk is the better watch.

Well after a few weeks of looking at watches, I didn't spend all my budget on a watch for myself. I realised its my wedding ann next month. So I have bought myself a Rolex Sub and the wife a 34mm Datejust as she likes bigger watches. They both arrived Saturday morning from watches.co.uk and we are very happy with them and the service provided.

£125? Really? Seems rather good value for a GP, and that's not just the starting bid, it's advertised at that price on their website.... must say I'm rather tempted by that...

Not unusual - I just let a vintage Gyromatic go for about £200.
