After much searching angst and attempting to make a decision I had settled on buying myself a Commencal Combi Disc, local bike shop have it reduced to £470 and all was set.

Do a little searching on the net to get some final comments and reviews to find that merlin cycles are selling the Combi Deluxe for with delivery £570

Main improvements are
Rockshox recon SL Air fork, vs Rock Shox Dart2
Sram X7 front mech vs X5
some Race Face finishing parts, seat stem and handlebar riser
and a different colour,

Is the improvements on the spec of the bike going up to the next model worth my while?

I am more of a weekend hobby cyclist, not likely to be doing massive jumps or drops on the bike more of a means of getting fit. But will the air fork give me that much difference.

I have tried them both but only in a 17" frame on the deluxe so was more to just get a feel of the fork and only really a pedal in a carpark not a proper drop down a hill or climb

Feel I have reached a stalemate on the decision now, the benefits of the Disc, local shop and overall cheaper, seem equaled by the deluxe bigger discount, perceived better model.

Any comments from anyone with either bike?
Is getting to the stage of flip a coin, as I know I will be happy with either decision just need to kick myself and make one.

Yep, get the better one, you'll enjoy it more, it'll feel better, and the forks are better.

Plus, you deserve it.

No questions really, just do it.

^^^^What they said!^^^^

Well worth the extra money, and if you don't get the better one, it'll cost you more in the long run just to upgrade the fork alone.
