Unbelievable that someone can do that to a car and expect to get away with it!

Naming and shaming will no doubt get this one. Great use of screws to hold the kit on though. Ingenius.

Who would have though a pack of self-tappers would do the trick?

Obviously not a good shafting. I assume the guy in question was an amateur working out of his dads garage. IM conversations seem a bit random for a professional shop.

I feel for the guy as its obvious that he likes his car but, and I quote
"after talking with Mike and hearing the good(and bad) things about him, I decided to give him a shot"
So expensive car, expensive body kit and he gives him "a shot" even after hearing bad things.
Only $750 (£375) what does he expect
OK the guy doing the job was wrong but the guy giving him his car was fking stupid

Spot on really. You have to look at the calibre of the place when making your decisions. Complete engine overhaul? Kwikfit it is!

Truly horrible, I've never seen such bad work.

But when you consider that I would want more than £375 to just fit the kit never mind paint it, and my prices are pretty aggressive! That is a 1k job all day long to do right.

Seen this type of rubbish time & again.
The amount of quotes I've given out over the years where the clients' nearly had heart failure; but then comes back 12 months later with their car comprehensively f**ked up after paying someone a fraction of the cost. It used to really pi55 me off, but I don't bother getting worked up anymore.
What is more annoying is when someone pays top whack & then gets shafted (& I'm mediating in a case like this at the moment!)
When will people learn, quality & skill COSTS MONEYirked

agreed... i still get nippers in my place wanting crap bodykits fitted, they usually get them out of max power magazine, i tend to price them out of the door now because its not worth the hassle.the best ones are the guys who want a flip tone paintjob, they nearly fall over when you quote a grand for paint and sundries.

Cost me £1000 to spray my old supra kit and I then fitted it myself with no body work experience and limited mechanical experience and it turned out 10000% better than that! Ok it took me a a week but then I supose speed comes with experience.
