Tvr Owners club - Worth The £50???

You'll get more technical help here on PH than you will on the TVRCC site, and I wouldn't go paying £50 just for that. But your membership gets you an excellent monthly magazine (with lots of specialist ads that come in handy when you're looking for servicing/parts/insurance etc) and there are monthly meetings all over the country. During the summer there tend to be lots of trips and events organised and if you're into that sort of thing you'll find it is a very sociable community. There's far more to it than the web site.
I get my annual membership fee back every year just by taking up some of the member discount schemes that are running with companies like the RAC etc. I think I got £40 knocked off my european breakdown and travel insurance alone.
For techie advice you are probably better off on here. The mag is excellent though with many very interesting articles.
Club meetings and events are also worth going to.
Oh, and its the TVR car club rather than owners club which means that you don't have to own a TVR to become a member (unlike other clubs)

I've been a TVRCC member for 10 years and the only thing currently keeping me as member is the 10% insurance discount I get from A Mannings UK Ltd.
If you want to be "active" with your TVRCC region and go to loads of national events then the TVRCC is great value.
The magazine's okay (the editing's improved with the new editor) but not worth the membership fee alone (more expensive than Evo!).

Just got off the phone to RAC, almost saved the annual fee with the discount on breakdown recovery. Result. Personally been a member for a number of years, only attended a few events but enjoyed the ones I have been to. Mag is a good read, so in my opinion worth joining.

Actually, just to clarify, Mannings told me that their policy was only open to TVRCC members and they could not continue to cover me unless I continued to be a member of the TVRCC. I say this as at renewal last month I specifically enquired as to what the level of discount was so I could decide whether or not to renew my TVRCC membership this year, and was told it was not a discount as such, as the policy was not open to owners who were not members of the TVRCC.
