Hi all
my daughters school have a conker competition all next week. Has anyone got any tips about how to prepare your conker or about hitting your opponents conker?

If you cant win..Cheat. I was the durham conker champion with a conker lasting 3 years. I used a lathe at school and made a fake conker using the school lathe. Varnish and jobs a good-un.

Feed the conker up before it's first race. Then it will run slow and get put in a lower category. Ah hang on thats grey hound racing tumbleweed

Some say it is best to drill out the soft center, then fill with resin. Some say not.;)

Dry them out in the airing cupboard to harden it off. That will either make them brittle or strong, so you need to test them against each other to find out which is best.
