I started a topic a while back regarding which watch to get. See linky if you're interested. My circumstances have now changed so I can only really spend in the region of £210. I really don't have a clue what to be looking for - I want a round face and a metal strap and showing the date would be good too.

Over to you biggrin

There a few nice Seiko's for this price. A Monster would be well within budget from numerous Ebay sellers.

Or if you wanted spend a bit more you could get a titanium Diver's

Alternatively how about a Seiko Alpinist? this is the next watch on my list. The metal bracelet is few quid over budget, or the leather strap just squeezes in.

Tonnes of other stuff on that site. I have bought from SeiyaJapan myself, service was 100% and he's well regarded on various forums.

+1 on the Seiko Monster.

A black one makes a great daily wearer.

^^ mine.

Ooh! Ooh! I know!

If you want something a bit dressier, and not-a-quartz, what about a Christopher Ward Malvern?

£195.

Click on the linky in my OP and you'll see why I chose it hehe I'm not buying it to pretend it's a tag carrera or to tell everyone it's a tag carrera but it's obviously a design that appeals to me biggrin

Nicer, IMO.

I think that the Tag Carrera is a bit shouty - "LOOK AT ME! I'M A TAG CARRERA, ME! I'M EXPENSIVE! LOOK AT ME!"

How about a 1960s Seiko Navigator Timer or a 1990s TAG F1?

I have both and love them. A but more unusual than a new watch and you can get either for less than your budget. Check out eBay.

Be sure to post photos of your CW 7 when it comes through. I've been looking at those for moths now and can't decide whether to go for it or not. I've no question that the movement is top quality but I'm yet to see any proper pictures of one. The pictutues on the website are a bit to arty for my liking - I want to see the whole watch before I pull my wallet out.

Also, rumours abound that CW will be releasing a Valjoux 7750 based on in the new year which I might hold out for.
