Reverse Light Lost

Checking things over tonight I noticed my reverse light is not working. Bulb is working fine and all wiring/connections inside the car are clean and dry.

Does anyone know where the reverse light sensor/connector is on a T350 gearbox? I wondered if this had fallen off or got damp etc. I've had a look but couldn't see any obvious lead

edited to add - don't worry found a thread that mentions the switch is under the centre console. Of course it is, how convenient !

Oh no!
It can be a pain to do the first time!

The bracket maybe bent out of position or switch failed

Mine also did not work so with the help of Grahams Sagaris pages I tackled it when the gear lever started to produce a very slight squeak when changing gear. It turned out to be the grub screw had come loose on the base of the gear lever which had allowed the lever to twist slightly. My main problems were that every bolt on the parcel shelf roller sheared and the centre console removal was VERY testing to say the least! Having done it and replaced it I think it would be much easier next time; the trick is managing to get the handbrake lever out of the way, which for me was best done by pulling it full on then manipulating the consol nearly out of the way as far forward and upward as possible and then to release the handbrake lever so it just went down through the hole in the console. The other "typical TVR problem" was that the rubber boot gaiter for the gearstick is not really big enough for the hole in the bodywork and had to be stretched into place and held with the four self tapping screws whilst trying not to get the applied sealant all over yourself! I was tempted to try putting extra self tappers in to hold the boot better but the fuel lines run along here under the body so do not be tempted if you are doing this! All in all it was a satisfying job done in the end and many thanks to Graham again for his good work.

Done. Took about an hour. Getting the console off is not easy - handbrake clearance, as above. Once unde that the rubber gaitor was easy - self tappers, so I guess someone else has been there before - and then just straighten the bar that contacts the switch. Nice one pistonheads

The self tapers (and cable ties) are standard factory issue!!!

Hope you checked it in 5th gear too!
