Great isn't it. Is it walking by its self or is someone telling him to?

It has just been naming objects and making judgements avout the category an unknown item falls into.

James May is usually controlled via an ear piece, powered by meat pies and brown beer. He's very realistic isn't he.

That Lifeblog camera thing he was wearing, I'm pretty sure one of the images that flicked up was of me biggrin

I sat across the aisle from him on an early morning flight to dublin a few months back, and when we got off the plane I noticed a weird contraption around his neck.

Anyone know how long it takes to get put on iPlayer? I want to see if it was me smile

It was very impressive, especially the running with both feet off the floor..albeit for 0.08secs. What wasn't very impressive was when he walked straight into a closed door and fell over.

A bit creepy.

Terminator.

Westworld.

HAL9000.

I Robot.

yikes

Seriously, I'd need a good reason to want one anywhere near me.

I was very very impressed with that! I knew that he (I mean it) was good at walking and could do stairs but to me that little robot was very close to making actual proper judgements! learning the shape of something and tagging it with a name is one thing, but to look at something and judge whether it is close enough in physical properties to be used the same as something else is impressive.

Glad it wasn't just me impressed by that. Him running was a bit of a revelation too, the next thing I'm waiting for is for him (it, I guess) to walk/run over uneven ground. That would be very impressive, I guess it wouldn't be too difficult if he can judge if something is a chair or a table.

Can any robots catch yet?

You might be even more amazed one day when ASIMO Mk2 looks at you and says "obsolete".

See my post above.

Fame at last.

Did he get frisked for explosives on arrival? I mean a suspicious looking man in a spaniel wig wearing an electronic device on his body.
