I recently asked for a drop of cold water in my black Americano as it was too hot and I was on my way to a meeting. "Sorry Sir", was the reply, "we cant serve tap water as it is not fit for drinking!!!!!"

They did, however, offer me ice cubes.

All mains water in this country is chlorinated to make it safe. .. ..where does Stabucks water come from?

How is that a waste?

Water comes out of the tap, goes down the drain, goes to the sewage treatment "place", gets treated, comes out of the tap again.

It's not like they are putting the water into rockets and launching it into space.

It's not like we're never going to see the water again.

AND, FFS - it's fecking WATER.

Ooh the earth's natural resources are being squandered. My fecking arse.

It falls out of the sky. There's fecking LOADS of it.

Careful how much oxygen you breathe everyone - it's a precious natural resource.

How much extra energy would be used by the sewage treatment plant to treat this 'extra' water?

Its a waste of clean and processed water - which requires energy. The reservoirs require maintenance, the delivery pipes, the infrastructure, drainage, etc. Reservoirs like Thirlmere or Ladybower aren't cheap.

Leaving a tap on is a stupid waste of energy (and clean water).

Enough to quench the thirst of Namibians... If the lazy feckers bothered to get a tap, they wouldn't be in that situation!

That may well be true.....but it's not the angle taken by the Charity in this case. It's irrelevant, stunt journalism at it's worst. Totally pointless. We have the energy and resources to leave a tap running in London and it will make fk all difference to the water supply in Namibia.....water isn't generally stored or transported as an international commodity like oil.

I couldn't care less how much water they are using as long as they are paying for it by volume.

Dunno.

Kilowatts, I expect.

No, no - volts. Or amps.

But remember - energy cannot be created or destroyed - it just gets "moved around".

Something like that. Never properly understood that, really.

Actually, that could be bks. I once had it off with a really fat lass and I was properly banging away but she hardly moved. Disconcerting, it was. Like that fella off Spiderman. You think he's fat, but actually he's all muscle. Kingpin.

Actually, she was fat. I regret boning her. Still, it's done now, and there's nothing you or I or any of us can do about it.

Yeah but then all those people that work at those places have a job.

Good god man, it's Christmas soon. Would you see them out on the street?

It's like roads, isn't it. You might have a nice "road shagger" that "shags up" the roads, and that's ok, because then the council can employ someone to fix up the roads you've shagged.

And that person who fixes the roads spends his money on cigarettes and scratchcards and stuff, which keeps other people in work.

It's the circle of life, you see.

Most things are, when you look at them properly.

I have "inner peace".

There are no germs in english water, cleaniest water in the world.

They should be fined for that. and use the money to buy water for poor nations

Have they considered using using sensor operated taps? Hypocrates!

What's the 'father of medicine' (albeit with one 'p' missing) got to do with this?

You're not wrong.

She was like a beached whale. I had to kind of pivot on her belly.

Rock forward to get the incisors round her "wipples".

Rock back to get the old fella in.

Plus, you know, I was slightly repulsed / aghast at what it was that I was up to.

Well, you would be, wouldn't you.

There I was, rocking back and forth, wipple, thrust. wipple, thrust.

Etc etc.

I don't mind admitting that I struggled to muster wood.

Later that week she dobbed me in to my gf at the time, too.

You can't trust the "truly huge". Mark my words.
