Was in traffic yesterday, using the clutch quite a bit, and today I can barely walk on my left foot. My big toe has swollen up, I can't bend it without agony. Has anyone had a similar problem before? The clutch doesn't even feel heavy FFS! frown

Clear diagnosis. Gout. Caused by shagging monkeys in the brazillian jungle. Only known cure is to ram a porcupine up your cornhole and sing all three verses of god save the queen. FOUR VERSES! biggrin

Be aware that if it is gout the first port of call from your doctors big book of drugs will be colchesene (sp?). You take this stuff until you throw up or get the squits or both. It cures the gout but is no picnic itself. Try drinking lots of barley water as that can help flush the uric acid out of your system.

Less red wine, a less rich diet, and excercise can all help to I think.

It's not caused by rich food or drinking either (common misconception) although it can be exascerbated by such activities smile

My old man suffers from it (used to find it funny to prod his tender foot with a cocktail stick as a kid and watch him hit the roof).

It sounds like gout, and I can't believe it hasn't been suggested yet.
