Mat / Satin black mk2 Golf GTI...
Discussion
The paint on my Golf GTi mk2 is looking a little worse for wear, so i'm thinking about re-spraying it myself.
I really like the Mat black look, but i've never seen it on a Golf. Has anybody got any photos of mat black or satin black mk 2 Golfs per chance?
The car is totaly standard, which is how i wanted to keep it, but now the paint needs doing (and it's just used as a weekend fun car), painting it mat/satin black has been playing on my mind for a few days now.
So any thoughts? I know the purists won't like it, but it looks a bit shoddy at the moment, and this could be what it needs to spruce it up and make it stand out.
Thanks in advance

its not mine, its a members car from CGTI.
i was dam close to Matt blacking my old valver after the paint work had passed its best. looks good and the best bit is if you scratch it its easy to respray. I believe this guy used in the region of 30-40 cans and the funny thing is he did one panel at a time over a period of a few weeks

This is the guys build thread, he has loads of pics of the different stages its gone through to get all black. Someone else has a 5dr matt black mk2 and there was someone running a matt black with bright green pin stripping that looked pretty hot to.
i do know of a big bumper matt black mk2 but to be honest i dont think it works as well. i cant find any pics of it either at the moment.

If the body is okay and it's just the paint you want to do, buy some 2000 grade wet or dry and do it yourself. Just watch the edges and you can have a matt black car in about 4 hours...
