Anyone tried coloured leds behind the rear plate?

Had a mad half hour with brain in mod mode and wondered whether anyone had tried replacing the rear numberplate backlight with coloured leds?

I replaced my original lamps that were US (Buggered) with clear LED's. Can't tell you the effect it gives as I don't use a see-throw number plate.
