rock band drums

Yo

Anybody got the rock band on Wii or 360? Are the drums any good? I loved Guitar hero and am thinking of investing in the drums. Can you freestyle or do you have to play a set tune?

Any feedback would be useful.

They make a loud clacking noise (which you can hear over the game) and no, you can't freestyle, but they say that if you can play expert then you'll be damn good on a set of real drums, and vice versa.

Yes true, tends to be more of a smash the pads as fast as you can than any sort of freeform jam session.

My girlfriend brought me rock band for my birthday - love it !

As Steve says you have to play a set tune (the same scrolling notes that you will be used to in Guitar Hero, but with the addition of some orange kick pedal notes) but there are some brief free style fills to be had mid track which is how you activate the star power bonuses.

Some tracks also have 'big finish' endings where you can free style for a short time before nailing a couple of extra notes for a big points score.

There is some clacking as you hammer the drum pads but I did notice that there are some aftermarket covers avaliable that are supposed to dampen this down quite a bit.

I'm currently stuck on 'Green Grass & High Tides' by the Outlaws - it's mental !
