Does anyone have any recomendations for a set of wheels for the MR2 Rev 2 Turbo? It already has 17's but they look pants as they're a horrible style and off white. I would like to keep with 17's as i believe 18's make the ride a bit rough? Also, does anyone know where i can get, or how to do the "sleepy eye" look on the headlights? I've tried logging onto MR2OC but my PC packs up every time. Any suggestions would be ace!

Thanks,

They both look quality, thing is though, your cars are bright white, mine is a ferari red. I'd love some dark or white alloys but i haven't found an example i like with red. I think it's gonna have to be hyper silver in colour. Also, are they both 17"? And where did you get the light conversion as thats what i really want! it looks brilliant on yours!

expect to pay £300+ for the lights, even second hand.

dont do a home made sleepy conversion. it looks a bit st.

check the for sale on mr2oc.com, you will be able to pick up some decent wheels for £250. But remember to budget for tyres, unless they come with some decent Toyos, Falkens, or Bridgestones.

DONT PUT CRAP TYRES ON YOUR TUBBY. unless you want to understand why they have a snappy reputation.

Yeah thanks for that, i'd like to find a package with toyo's on really. I'm gonna take it easy for a while so i get used to it. I've only driven BMW's and MX 5's for RWD cars. This one's a bit more powerful. Put down the deposit on it tonight though! can't keep still through excitement! biggrin

I got a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s for my Tubby recently, with a Demon Tweeks 10% discount they came to about £100 each and they're really light. Advantage here is that they will make them up in pretty much any offset you need.

Not the best of pics but you get an idea what they're like:

Looks really nice! Is that white or yellow? I didn't realise you could get them for that cheap. How did you get the 10% off?

Is that at Ace per chance? Where in Bucks are you? I am in Chalfont St Peter and there seem to be a fair few tubbies around. I did see a white one just like ours with white rims a few weeks back.

The car is yellow, 10% was via the IMOC forums I think, just said I was a member when I rang up, they didn't really ask for any proof.

Whitenoise - It's in Milton Keynes, see a few round here, but not many seem to want to wave back.

Ace! i'll definately have to give that a try. Also what offset are the wheels for MR2's as i've been told they are 45 by one person and 37 by another? i don't fully understand how offsets etc about wheels are measured, anyone shed some light on this?

The higher the number, the closer they will be to the suspension struts, the ones that were fitted when I bought mine were more of a Lexus offset and were rubbing on my springs, so I went for a lower offset to push them further out into the wheelarches. I think mine are now 33mm offset, but 28/30mm (or possibly even lower) should be fine, the IMOC forums are a good source of info on what is the ideal offset for each wheel size and width combination. Obviously you'll want the wheels an inch wider at the back too.

Cool, thanks for that mate. I've just signed onto MR2OC and am asking about on there aswell. Thanks for your help.
