330d, 335d or 335i touring

Engine sound - I6 non turbo sounds the best by a margin, does that concern you?

Guessing that you mean they are all Touring?
Are you worried that if you buy the 335d the block will be the old old iron block which is what was used for the 204bhp 330d... so its 2 generations behind the current 245bhp 330d and given that at some point maybe soon it will be replaced and should have a big step forward in economy & performance - will that be of concern?

I would go for a nearly new 335d touring. Low(er) depreciation and the engine suits an every day cruiser, with enough oomph for some fun when the mood takes you. 550 miles between stops clinched it for me after the shocking range of my 130i.
But it's a very personal choice. Do your sums and drive them all. None are exactly what you'd call a bad car!

Did you drive that like you stole it on every drive ? Or is the direct injection petrol really that good?
Key point is do you want a manual or auto? If auto then 335d. Personally think torque is more crucial than power when coupled to an auto. If manual the 330 or 335 petrol will be much more fun but remember a 330d manual should return 45mpg against the 30-35 mpg of the petrols. Hope this helps. Note 335d is auto only.

There is one or two people who may have experience of them or may fall into the above categories, it's your call.
However I would certainly be a lot happier if you'd go and buy all three, compare and race them, and report back in 10,000 miles time

Easiest thing to do is take them all out, but not for 10 minutes, get them for a day each, and then decide. Then don't come on any forums ever again as you will be told you have made a mistake and you should have bought an electric Toyota.
