Hi chaps,

I run a Ltd company, nothing major, but i spend a lot of time e-mailing our clients.

At the moment i use the mail system on the Mac which i use for working. Since we use a Mac.com account, our e-mail address is businessname@mac.com

This doesnt look very professional, so i set up e-mail forwarding from the place i bought our website address. This means that people can send us mail at info@businessname.com, however it does't work to send outgoing mail.

So basically i'm asking how to get the e-mail addresses such as info@businessname.com or sales@businessname.com to work both ways and sync into the Mac.com e-mail provider.

(sorry if this makes no sense, i'm rubbish when it comes to computers...)

Ask on the Computers and stuff forum, you'll get a better response.

You'll need to get a hosted account, you can have this from just £33/yr with Register1 run by PHer JamieBeeston.

(Pop the cheque in the post J wink)

As you already have your web address, you will probably be able to use google apps www.google.com/a for your email. You can use the web based gmail type interface or hook it up to your mail client.

Change the reply address - job done.

You don't require additional hosting.

depends on who your ISP is - its the ISP that lets you send your e.mail from the address that you own its called "mail relay" and we are with BT - its a simple phone call and documentry evidence that you own the domain and they simply add the account to thier system - thereby allowing you to send your e.mail from your own proper e.mail address.

PS - we have 4 different domains and we are able to send e.mail from any one of the 4 accounts via an option button in outlook - its simple (now that its been setup)
