Following on from the what smell reminds you of childhood?
What smell makes you salivate?
Bacon cooking?
Fried onions?
Bar B Que?

fish and chips
fry up
curry (or just really strong garlic smell where u know something tasty's happening somehwere)
and barbecue of course

Onion & garlic being fried.

Could be chilli. Could be curry. Could be spag bol. Could be lasagne. Could be stir fry.

And any will be good.

the smell of a roast joint being cooked, i get so impatiant that as soon as it comes out the oven i start carving it and really eat more than i should.

Just as you approach the Park Royal underpass on the North Circular, there's always a smell of curry/onion bhajis. I think there's a factory there; either that or it's Madhur Jaffery's gaff.

Never fails to make me salivate.

A fresh bag of flaming hot monster munch!

Also as said above freshly roasted chicken, oh and lifting the lid off a pot of Moules mariniere.
