Discussion
The Nursing Midwifery Council....
Consider...Mrs Oldsoak a nurse of many many years sends off her annual registration form and cheque for £78.
On said form there are a number of ticky boxes for varying levels of training undertaken during the registration period...she forgets to tick one box that she should have.
Today an A4 envelope arrives containing another form along with notification that her re-registration had failed (Nurses cannot work unless registered)
Rings Wifey at work to inform her of the error she in turn contacts NMC to "sort the silly bergers out"...
Jobsworth on phone said they would fax her application back to her so she could tick the relevant box and then fax it back to NMC, upon receipt her registration would be accepted....WTF?

I know it sounds pedantic and I totally agree with you about the jobsworth, there is another angle. An un-trained/mis-trained nurse doesn't tick the box cos they've not done the training. Someone at registration dept looks at form and thinks 'they must have missed the box, we'll tick it/go ahead anyway' then the accident happens, nurse says 'I never ticked the box to say I had the training' Whos head on block?
If your wife ticks the missed box and sends it back, its down to her and not reg dept, they have slopey shoulders!
Admittadly, they should be able to go back over last ten years records and see if its been done, but that would be too easy and do an office waller out of a job!

I had something similar recently.
Some old biddy had been unable to film out a form correctly and expected it to go through without being picked up on it. Obviously we had to reject the application due to the line of work we are in and not being able to take chances, so we sent it back telling her why it had been rejected.
Next thing I know I've got her ranting on the phone at me! To try and make her life easier I even offer to fax her the form so that she can correctly fill it in and just fax it to me back, but apparently that wasn't good enough for her.
Why can't people just read the form and follow the simple instructions?

Just so you reprobates (was that the word.. know it ends with 'bates' anyway)get a good night with the 5 fingered widow..she's a 36DD 5'6" with legs that touch the floor and reach right up to her shapely derrière. She wears Blue tunic with white piping on the sleeves and the whole thing is fastened with press-studs and tends to gape a little under stress.

No I won't post a picture you wouldn't believe it was my wife if I did...carry on dreaming and kissing frogs...You never know your luck
