Spotted this on the gassing station. One to be aware of I think. Unmarked police bikes, black cbr600s with cameras, nicking us here in Kent and probably other districts! http://kentonline.co.uk/kol08/article/default.asp?...redcard

never thought I would say it but, I'm thinking of buying a radar detector. It's just getting stupid in Kent. 2 weeks back I overtook 2 lorries on a hill on the A2M to find a camera van on the verge as I emerged passed them. Who the fcensoredk is gonna sit behind lorries on a hill. It's a blatant pcensoreds take! Anyway, no ticket yet, so I believe I'm in the clear.

A3 northbound today - 1/4 mile past the speed-camera where it goes 70 into 50 - a camera van hiding under the bridge waiting to pick off unsuspecting citizens who speed up past the camera!

Love the Roscoe thing, sums it up nicely! As for the best radar detectors, think I'll just pop into Halfords and see whats on the shelf. I picked up 3 points a month back when I answered my mobile as I pulled onto the drive. Thats 5 feet from being legal.

The editorial suggests the bike was doing 90 MPH in places,
the police camera shows a maximum of 77 MPH and that's after the copper is held up behind a car and then guns it to catch up!
What bks.

The handhelds are lasers aren't they? Jammers are illegal, probably because they're effective.

Still reckon we need a database of police number plates twinned with an ANPR device. Might give a timely warning of the unmarked ones if nothing else.

Rob, if this is the one just coming into chessington before Tolworth then it got me a few weeks ago. Its just after the bend and I thought there was no distance for it to register. I was doing close to 70 and I didn't get a ticket. My mate thinks it was prob a tax van?

I knew I shouldn't have said I was in the clear yesterday. It appears I was in the camera instead! 85mph on the motorway as I overtook 2 lorries on a hill. I hope I rot in hell and die a painful death from drving my car at half its max speed!driving

It did still have the speed camera sign on the side of the van but I hear they use the same vans?

Always got resources to do this crap. Never to call in when you've been robbed. Funny eh?

How about this. Took a poets afternoon and headed for a good pub to meet a friend.
On the doorstep (as in ON the doorstep) a police tripod and camera. 250 yards down the road ... a school.
Which doorstep would you prefer to see a police presence on?

The initial story mentioned on this post is a little worrying as KENT Traffic Headquarters is only 3 miles from me weeping

I know that KENT Constabulary put a lot of effort into their traffic division as do Essex. Just a shame all they tend to do is target the average person instead of the person that just burgled a house and nicked a car. can't see a tripod catching them!!!

Now that Kent council has lost £50 million in Iceland, I've got a peculiar feeling that us motorists might just be under a bit more scrutiny!scratchchin
