Diesel, same engine as the one I have with the same power output, the lightness may help a little but on my usual driving (with the bluefin off so standard) mixture of 60-70 dual carriageways and town driving returns 55mpg.
On a run keeping it steady and between 50 and 65 close to 70 is possible though. I managed 72.2mpg over a 50 miles trip in heavy traffic by driving with the lorries on a light throttle.

Right, went to see the potential new car .... Didnt haggle at this point, just waiting on a final confirmation of the valuation of Mrs V's car.
Dealer is quoting the list price though on the forms.
I know the car is a new model, but what is reasonable to expect for a "good deal" on a new car ?

Given the current economic turdpool this country is in, Im expecting said dealer to literally bend over backwards to get the sale.
