... anyone any idea of the best place for a spare please. It appears to have snapped!

I used to know a couple of decent parts places a year or so ago but I have lost all the details

It never happened in the end I'm afraid. It would have been a waste of the car to use it for the 1.5 mile pootle to work and back and, much as I might have thought otherwise, it was never going to get used on a weekend.
