Diff Input Oil Seal

The input oil seal on my diff has started to leak more than it has for the last two years! I didn't mind it 'weeping' but it has certainly picked up recently. I've cleaned the breather, so it isn't due to a build up of pressure.

Is the seal replacement a DIY job and is the seal readily available? I can get underneath the car easily enough. It was suggested that a reconditioned diff be fitted, but these seem to be around the £1k mark, which seems a bit excessive to fix a leak!

Coventry transmissions did my crown wheel and pinion swap for me, alot less than that, try em.
