Hi Everyone just strayed in from the S forum.

I've had a rain cover made for my S to avoid the hassle of fitting the targa panels each time I park, see below

The cover was £75 (inc VAT) OK for a one off the bag overpriced at £15 (inc VAT)

I think the cover would fit a Griff (anyone around Worcester to try please)

Got the pattern now if anyones interested I can get then made up, obviously if LOTS are wanted the cost will come down.

At least I can leave the targa panels at home most of the time, the shower cap will keep the rain out when parked

a good idea, but if anything happens to your pride an joy whilst the cover is on and you`ve left it parked up somewhere then I don`t think your insurance company will be very helpfull.scratchchin

I don't understand what you're getting at Fordy - surely its more secure than not having the roof on at all. I can't see what an insurance co would find to complain about.

Nice job OP.
I congratulate you for your work and for posting the results up here. With the Leven kit costing twice what yours did its useful for someone to see what it would cost for a DIY version vs the Leven one, and an idea how it could be done. I'd have made the back straps long enough to tie around a rear wheel spoke, but everyone has their own idea how to improve something you've already done biggrin

Well done you thumbup

I tell you what i would be interested in one of them if, as i am sure they could, make one for a Griff yes

Perhaps a Group Buy might be in order for some discount smile

I suspect they will just fit a Griff, if there are any local to Droitwich/Worcester I would be happy to try a fitting

I can't see a problem with insurance... The roof is only plastic or fabric, it's inherently insecure. I often alarm mine with the roof off.

Norman,
Will be near Droitwich on Sunday for the WWM spring run. Live in Redditch as you know so pretty close.

I think you`ll find that if you car was stolen and you`d left it parked with NO roof on you would not be covered.
another way of the insurance company not paying out.

Just talked to Darren at Hagerty about this - leaving the car without the roof on is apparently an issue with some insurance companies. Hagerty have none of this malarky and say it only affects claims for things stolen from the car if the roof is off. So protect your radios and don't leave the laptop on the passenger seat when you go to Sainsburys and you'll be OK with them. thumbup

BTW: Darren at Hagerty has owned loads of TVR's and was a 4.3 Pre-cat Griff owner at one time too (top man Sir bow)

Thanks for the heads up Clive wink
