Interested to know the difference of ground clearance between the S and the Griff. Until this Saturday (when I sell it) I have a non cat S3 and will be getting a Griff 500 the follow day. I am hoping you guys will tell me it will have a better clearance (can you tell me by how much) than the S3. I trust the Griff is better over those dreadful sleeping policemen in towns than the S.
Look forward to your replies.
Many thanks.

Miles better. Although this is subjective to the suspension that you have on your car. When I was running the S3 on STD shocks and springs, with 55 profile tyres, things were not good. After new shocks and springs, and 60 profile tyres, it was much better.

At the moment, my Griff is doing ok. It could do with being raised a little for practicality over humps.

The biggest advantage of the Griff/Chim cars, are the lack of the manifold to exhaust down pipes the S3 has. Whilst the car looks fine, these protrude a good few inches below the line of the body. The Griff and Chim don't, the bottom is the bottom.

Definitely much improved clearance in the Griff (I have a 500 as well). Very rarely ground out the exhuast usually because I've been going to fast.

Clive - as for the pics, go into TVR Centre website, go then to the used car page, click page 5 and there you go! the one in red, Sold! Very pleased so far and agree with various postings on here, the guys there have been first class over the sale, well recommend them. No hard push and extremely helpful, can't ask for any better.

Hi,
I'd never considered selling my S2 and I did have problems with my own drive and getting the car in and out the drive. To the point I could not have passengers or a full tank of petrol in the car for fear of ripping the exhaust off as it rubbed the drive on entry and exit.
I then made the faital well for the S2 that is, of having a ride in a Griffith 400, 6 weeks later I owned my current Griffith.
SOOOOOO much better, nothing hanging out the bottom and the suspension is way better.
The only thing to keep your eye on is the engines sump which is a little exposed.

Have fun driving

Now I beg to differ! the bloody intake splitter for the rad intake is an absolute swine over certain of the pedestrian raised sections round here, absolutely flattened the damn thing! ............must stop driving on pavements hehe

but it is a problem, so worthwile checking if it has been damaged before you but it's a whole £45 to replace.smile
