Not sure if that's stupid enough to chastise her for. I've heard a lot worse.

Where is the harm in what she is suggesting? If I say to my gf lets go for a few drinks then it'll just be one or two alcoholic drinks and maybe a couple of soft drinks. Just a figure of speech and hardly something to berate the poor girl over.

Okay, i didnt berate her at all, i was merely sharing a daft comment she made(in my opinion) and as i live 45 miles from nottingham, i didnt want to risk driving back having had a few sherbets> the trouble is once i have one, i'll have half a dozen, so not the best idea methinks!!paperbag

You can have a couple, should know how many drinks you can handle before you shouldn't drive, surely?

Have had first hand experience with drink driving on more than one occasion(wasn't me before I get burned) and you're totally correct. Don't drink and drive at ALL. There's no point even trying to mix the two in the slightest quantity. Having 'a few' and thinking you'll be 'okay' is well on the way to boiling my p1ss. If combine booze and driving you'll get what's coming to you eventually. Hopefully before a third party is involved.

As the advert goes: Buzzed driving is drunk driving.
Alot of teens fail to see the rationale behind that. Sort of like they fail to realize that oral sex or anal sex is sex.

Of course what she meant was; let's drive to Nottingham and I'll have a few beers, after which you can drive me home.
