My 4.6 P38 is showing -40 degress as the outside temperature. I suspect a faulty external air temperature sensor but is there anything else that is known to cause this erroneous reading?
Anyone replaced this item? Any known snags?

I would have thought dirty connections could possibly produce such a fault.

Yorkshire, which is close..... but actually quite mild at the moment!
I've checked for bad connections and this hasn't helped.
Looks like a new sender then!

hehe

Have you looked on the rangerovers.net site?

I've had a quick look at the known faults on that site and can't see anything, but it may be worth asking on the forums that they have there.
