Labour will win next next election
Discussion
Reading the papers on the way home tonight, I was faced with the following
"Greedy bankers must pay"
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-235...
and the horrible thought dawned on me that Gordon Brown may be able to get away with this. Every time you hear him talk of the credit crunch he blames America, and as we fall into recession here in the U.K., the scapegoats are being lined up.
Forgotton will be the unprecedented levels of public and personal debt, PFI, public sector waste etc. etc.
I can see this being equivalent to Thatcher's Falklands, and he will sweep to victory at election time.
What can us as individuals do to spread the truth, or will the general population not listen? I am genuinely worried for the future of our country.

Have you ever thought that maybe you're wrong? If the rest of the population don't hate Labour as much as the vocal minority on here do, perhaps it's you that's wrong and the majority are correct? "Greedy bankers must pay"

Are you sure that you're not blinkered by the fact you class yourself as a motoring fan and because of this you asume that you must hate Labour? after all, the vocal minority on here can't be wrong can they? maybe, just maybe, the vocal minority on here who spew forth hatred of Labour at every available oportunity have got it wrong..... just a thought- cue the usual insults from the usual people*
NOpe naked, i hate labour because of various reasons, chief amongst them is the fact they are closing my local post office, causing me to have to drive ten miles to get a tax disc! Also, as i am of the age i can remember harold wilson, then maggie etc to today, under labour you normally have less money in your pocket! And whats more to the point, the current administration have given more of our powers in the european union away, which just means this country has become a dumping ground for europes dross, and we have to do what brussels(or wherever is in charge now) says, no matter what. P.S. also witness labour doing sod all about sangatte being closed! and no i wont insult you, you are entitled to your opinion after all!

Fair play then, you've got your reasons to dislike Labour
Had the same thought myself. However, opposition parties are now quite correctly supporting the gov in order to bolster confidence in the economy. If/when economy is moving in the right direction, would expect the gloves to come off and questions be asked as to how we arrived in the position we are now in. There is plenty of amunition...

I like to think I have an open mind, so what do you think I am wrong about (the only thing I can think of is that the Tories may be worse)? I think the country is going down the crapper, and I believe that I would feel the same if the Tories had done this to our once great nation.

I really hope you are right, and that the opposition currently feel that it is poor form to attack the Government in times of crisis. If only Vince were a Tory.Edited by NoelWatson on Thursday 9th October 19:47

I am not a party political person.
I hate most politicians.
BUT
Every day this government stoops to a new low with the complete crap that it spouts and the laws in introduces.
Labour is dead.
My biggest fear is that Conservative may be just as bad.
Not likely. Labour are not going to win the next election and the country will benefit as a result. The BBC may gloss over Gordon's dithering and uselessness but listen to vox pops even on the beeb's news items, people know the government are incompetent and self-serving. the single thing that would prevent this result, essential for any semblance of national recovery, is that Call Me Dave doesn't shoot himself or his Party in the foot. He seems a skilled politician (both a bad thing and a good thing) so all should be well.I hate most politicians.
