As it says, 134,000 miles, ran very well on 5w/40 fully synthetic oil, removed from MOT failed car.
Is it worth anything?

I suspect the problem with mk1 MR2s is that there are many more good engines than there are good cars to put them into. smile

Joking aside, if that's the 4AGE it probably is worth something to a kit car constructor as long as it can be completely reconditioned. I wouldn't expect them to be at a premium though, due to the number of mechanically sound, rotten MR2s.

I'm looking for a 4AGE from a Mk1 MR2, but would want the gearbox, mounts, exhaust and rear suspension as well (pretty much everything mechanical behind the rear bulkhead). If that lot is available, how much would you be looking for?

Alex
What would you want that lot for?
Are you thinking drive shafts, hubs, brakes etc?
It has a performance exhaust with twin outlet, stainless I think.

I'd be aiming to put the whole lot into a mid engined kitcar, would ideally like it with everything from the wheels up (brakes, hubs, suspension, driveshafts, gearbox, engine, ecu, inlet manifold, airbox, exhaust manifold, exhaust, etc). I can imagine there'll be a fair bit of fabrication to do but I'd rather start with everything and only chuck things when I know I don't need them, rather than have to scrounge around for something I could have easily had!

Where are you located?

Down in sunny Bournemouth
Trouble is the engine is out of the car and everything has been striped off, hoses cut and bits may be missing, sounds like you need to buy a car then strip it down.

Nuts, I'm in bouremouth too! I know I should really be looking for a whole car, but thought you might not have broken yours yet. Back to EBay then...
