I'm looking for a new set of handlebars and want a set that are pretty narrow, so far i've seen sets that are 40cm end to end, anyone know if and where I can get more narrow ones? I'd be looking for standard drop handlebars or moustache bars.

Thanks in advance guys biggrin

Are you talking about road 'bars?

The accepted norm is to have bars as wide as your shoulder. Roughly speaking the 'bar width should coincide with the shoulder ball socket at the top of the humerus. Unfortunately as people have got bigger and wider, the manufacturers have not kept up. 42 or 44cm is adequate for most people. I use a 46cm. They used to be made as narrow as 38cm for Kermesse racing where squeezing through narrow gaps in the bunch was common practice.

Narrow 'bars restrict breathing.

Yeah it was road bars I was looking, thinking of going for a 40cm, but i'd really prefer to try them out beforehand, currently got a 44cm set and it feels like i'm reaching out too far to the sides.

Thanks for the info anyways biggrin
