Depressions which was worst
Discussion
Looked back and found that as we all know we had the 1920/30's depression but also the 1870's depression, the worring thing is that the lessons learned from the 1870's made zero impact to the 1920/30's as they made the same mistakes.
Look at today - were again making the identical mistakes & we can all see it coming.

The other thing to note is this
1870 - 1890 depression
1929 - 1950 depression
1970 - 1982 long recession (but not depression)
2008 -????
So are depressions part of the Capitalist economy cycle?

A recession technically is two quarters of negative growth.Look at today - were again making the identical mistakes & we can all see it coming.

The dates you have cited contain years of growth.
The 1930-35 US Great depression was certainly very bad and probably the first true global depression.

Well, if the opposite of Capitalism is Communism, that's in a permanent depression. At least with captitalism you get some goood times as well.NB Capitalism is merely the reflection of most of the human race. We all want to better ourselves - it's the same instinct that got us out of caves.
