Help!
I'm having trouble getting winVROC to work with Grand Prix Legends. I've installed it and patched it with the newest patch, but every time I load it up I get the message

WinVROC.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point RichEdit10ANSIWndProc could not be located in the dynamic link library RICHED20.dll

It then loads and I can see the chat, but no race servers appear, and at the bottom of the window it says 'Logging onto winVROC, please wait' and doesn't go off that.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

in vroc.ini make sure it says:

[VROC]
Address=racelist.vroc.net

If you have XP then you can just delete the RICHED20.dll from the vroc folder

Thanks guys! Works now

Now to work out how to stop the sound crackling and how to get the cars to slow down...

And does everyone else get a port scan everytime they log on?

Aargh!
Only my second race (not racing online yet) I was running a solid 10th out of 20 (only had it a day), feeling quite contented when BANG! the engine blew up! wtf? How often does this happen? Did I do something wrong?

How high were you revving the engine? Were you backing off inbetween changes?

I find that on longer tracks (like the fantasy tracks you can download, 8 miles per lap) that if you are really pushing the car to the rev limit (about 10000rpm) and not backing off inbetween changes the engine wont last more than a few laps, even with the damage model set at its lowest setting.

There must also be an element of randomness in deciding if you should suffer a failure. I think you can have suspension failures aswell? Might be wrong though.

PWIG is the man to ask though, I think he lives a secret double life in the world of GPL...

Yes you must lift the throttle when you change gear or you'll bounce the engine off the limiter and it won't last very long - specially if it's a Lotus

D'OH! Yes, it was a Lotus then went bang. Back off between changes? Even with auto shifting on?

May have to use manual then, maybe I'll be able to get a decent start that way - first race, sat on the grid, everyone else is revving their engine, so I press the accelerator, and move forward

You could always get a 3 pedal kit with a clutch and proper H gate gear change.

Stop the audio crackling by turning the speakers up and the game volume down.

Well I've got the Act Labs shifter but no clutch pedal - I use the right hand paddle on the wheel as the clutch. The thing is you lose the automatic throttle blip when using the shifter so you have to learn to match the revs when changing down or you end up locking the rear wheels, sending you backwards into the nearest hedge

These are the pedals to get...

is there a way to turn auto downshift blip off when playing with a controller?
