As the post states
Approx 20 years ago a girl was snatches from the end of our road and murdered
(Note we did not live here at the time of the murder but approx 4 miles away)
It was a tragic case and I will not divulge any further details on the case.
However it was brought to my attention last weekend that the murderer has now served his time and is now living 6 miles away from my home.
Now my worry is for my young kids and the others in the area Once bitten etc as we were not told about this man moving back into the area.
Am I worrying myself unnecessarily or do I have a genuine case to be over cautious now

6 miles?!

If only you knew the background of everyone within a 6 mile radius.

Worry not.

You should immediately lock your children in the cellar or loft.

its not the murderer that lives 6 miles away that you need to be worried about, it's Rod Rammage sat outside in his van that you should be concerned about.

There will be all sorts of mental's living very close to you. Most of the time, it's better not to know and live in blissful ignorance.

Where is Mr Rammage by the way? He's not posted for an entire day! (Obviously getting the snatch van ready)

6 miles away, i'll wager there's people closer to home with horrific criminal records (or records yet to be created...)

Almost certainly correct (depending on where you live of course) - before each shift I get a team briefing and almost evey day there's another new name and face under the 'sex offenders' heading, usually with a summary of their index offence.

Teach your kids how to be safe when out and about but don't make them (or yourselves) live in fear - that's not living. We all take risks every day of our lives, mitigate them the best you can and don't become a slave to fear.

Picket his house until he moves out and lives six miles from someone else.
