How about adhesive rather than adhesive tape, or Industrial Velcro, you ever tried pulling that apart ?

I used the strong doublesided foam tape and it's never come off in two years.

I bought some foam double sided tape from B&Q after mine fell off on a hot summers day, re stuck and it's still there 3 years on. Or maybe that was the last time we had a hot summers day?

Same here, never had a problem with standard double-sided foam trim tape.

I used the tape that came from Fancyplates.
I made sure all the previous glue/tape/foam was cleaned off the car, degreased the back of the plate and roughend it slightly and cut the tape down the middle to make a narrow srip so it fitted the ledge.

Double sided velcro works for me. Fancy plates tape not that good in my experience and expensive compared to a metre of double sided velcro.

I've always used Ronny's.Or the 'steering wheel' in wolstanton.
They've got double sided foam, I've never had one drop off yet.
See you later you old bugger.

I was going to go the velcro route if mine ever fell off but it hasn't. The tape I used came free with the plate.

Me too, I did go all the way around the edge with the stuff as I didn't find much overlap between the plate and the edges to stick to on the car. Main Issus I have is the Fancyplate quality isn't that good as the edges have gone milky after 3 years (car lives outside)

You'd have to hold it into the curve while it cured.

D/s sticky foam pads here - I bought a big reel of it from somewhere ages ago. Sticks like st.

I held it with some masking tape and now have a lovely leak free and neat seal

Don't they all have a couple of metal brackets?

Normal number plate screws go into them.

If your brackets are missing/worn thread, why not replace them?

Aha, cunning plan.

Yep but then you get screw heads showing. The whole Giffith concept is flush, flush, flush for that half-sucked boiled sweet-loook smile
