Insurance & Recovery Advice
Discussion
OK, in 24 hours I should have my hands on my new Cerb
I'll be asking all the usual stuff next week but for now I have a couple of questions;
1) Who do you recommend for insurance - I've got a 500 quid quote for a 20K Cerb on 8K miles a year? Sound good?
2) Recovery - Who would you recommend, one of the big boys or a specialist is there are any?
3) Does anyone offer warranty for Cerbs. If so who and how much?
Thanks

I got mine through Hagerty. £387, garaged, 28 years old, £23k value and 4,000 miles.D1ckie said:

AA recovery is as good as any. I used for the MG, fact is, they have lots of vans, so can get to you fairly sharpish.D1ckie said:

I've got the AA Warranty, can't remember how much, £180 sounds familiar though. If you have the breakdown cover, it will give give you a £500 warranty which you can claim 5 times a year on I think. They will also tow the car to a garage of your choice.I did this based on advice on this forum.

Hagerty, £328 per year, 3 named drivers, no-claims bonus not needed, with 7500mls per year, 35yrs old value £15k with car garaged. Cheapest around and god did i try, direct line wanted 4 pints of blood, 1 kidney and Bone marrow twice a year !!!
AA best for breakdown, good response time and never a problem.

Looking forward to passing on any limited advice I may have when required.
A-Plan are the best for me; I'm currently having niggles with a Really Antagonistic Corporate (windscreens) which A-Plan are handling for me; although it has yet to be resolved A-Plan are exceeding expectations by far (will update all when the situation has been rectified).
I wish I'd got the AA warrantee, you will get your money back in the second year of not before.
If you’re looking to replace a windscreen before I post the outcome, please, please PM me – not an ad but a word of warning.

Ive moved from AA to Hagarty understands the cars and drivers, fixed replacment cost recovery to home from anywere in the UK allows up to four drivers over 26 as long as they all have there own cars I have limited mileage and garaged 337 still use AA for allother breakdowns. Give them a call real friendly and if you are a TVR club member better discount.
