is it just me or is the standard set up just crap!!!
the radio reception is ok when the engine is off but as soon as the pump starts forget it.
and the standard pioneer speakers are s
t too.
is the airel on every one els's car just flapping around on top of the fuel tank?
and any ideas how to get a signal when moving would be good?
thanks

Fit one of those adhesive windscreen aerials instead to the rear screen, Halfords sell 'em and while still not perfect they do improve things a lot.
Alternatively something which may work better but I didn't get round to trying it in mine is to ; get one of the old style telescopic manual aerials and extend it up the 'B' post hole in the boot on into the roof. As fibreglass is transparent to radio it should work fine and give a better signal than the windscreen types as the aerial is so much bigger

If you search back a couple of years I went through the same process, although if you've got an aerial flapping around on top of the tank I'd suggest someones already fitted a powered one and it's come loose, 'cos the normal aerial is in the wiring loom under the dash?
Anyhow - halfords sell a powered windscreen adhesive aerial for about £12 I think. I stuck mine above the fuel tank and ran the wiring back down the centre console. Works mostly OK, but a bit iffy in areas.
This year I obtained the dab upgrade to my head unit and fitted a dab stick windscreen aerial under the dash on the passenger side and that's not bad either.
However - for best results, you really need a beesting aerial fitted external to the car. I just couldn't face (in my mind) ruining the lines and design ethic

I asked a friend who owns a car audio shop about the sound quality and fitting better speakers and head unit, he tapped the doors then said its not worth it unless you fit alot of sound deadening (sp) eg dynomat.
He said it would be like going and buying top end speakers and mounting them in a biscuit tin, it is possible to get good sound but it would cost you a fair bit for head unit, speakers, amps, sound deadening mayerials so i thought sod it i'll listen to the exhaust and engine. Music to my ears

Since fitting the ACT "Quite" exhaust, I can now hear the Radio.
Reception can be a bit poor due to the hills around here, but its the original Panasonic and to be honest is pretty good but bloody complicated!
Stupid little buttons!
But it is no where near as good as the Bose system in my Audi A8.
The way things are going might be worth looking for an A8 to buy, just for the system!
I have always found Sony speakers to be a cut above the rest and replaced the originals in my daughters and sons cars with them. Very impressive for the money, so may try them in the Cerbera now that I can hear them.
