Pugette jnr (5 months) had had her bath and was being fed by Mrs Puggit in her room. I got Puggit jnr (25 months) out of the bath and dried him off before he went running starkers to kiss mummy and sister good night.

I hung around briefly with Mrs Puggit for a chat before going in to his room. There he was starkers, sitting on his teddy with his hands fumbling between his legs.

On enquiring what he was doing he uttered:

puggit jnr said:
I'm playing with willy
According to a letter we received from the NHS - our son at 2 should know 50-100 words, I hate to think about the general intellect in this country, but as per above, he knows many hundreds of words...

I think it is a universal characteristic to play with your bits as soon as you know they're there. Having it actually feel good to play with them is something that happens later. To begin with they're just strange parts of your body which are interesting to fiddle with.

**Well, as you should know by now, we all seem to be judged by the lowest common denominator!!

Let's face it, how can the pass rate for education have exceeded expectations year after year, when all the common man in the street sees is more and more idiots in the world?

I'm not saying that your child isn't exceptional, but ours did the same and I'm sure he, (ours, not yours!), bats for the other side*!!

*That is not to say those features are related in any way, shape or form, but in our case I think there'll be some sort of connection.

**This is meant tongue in cheek for those that have issues!! wink

My daughter at an incredibly young age used to hump her small teddy. Now she just uses a bigger one!

Great topic amidst all the doom and gloom!

Caught my little fella (same age 25 months) last weekend asking for something and not saying 'please'.

Ex: Where's your manners?
Little Ex: hmmm.... gone shop....
Ex: Gone shopping for what?
Little Ex: Gone shop for nappies....

I only get to see him at weekends, and it never fails to amaze me that already at his age he has a sense of humour and all he really wants to do is help out and have fun. At the same time he can remember stuff that we talk about from the previous weekend and brings up conversations from last week for us to talk about again.

He's priceless, I'm sure it's the same for every parent, but I find it really funny when the people on PH (without kids) jump into a thread about kids claiming they don't want anything to do with kid and we should all shut up.

My little boy is my bestest friend ever. When he's here with me we do everything together, a job that might take me 10 minutes can take an hour with him involved. It's brilliant!

He caught me another good one earlier tonight, playing with one of his Bob The Builder toys. He was drinking some juice from a cup and straw, I asked,
'Does skip want some juice?'. 'No' he replied, 'Skip wants diesel, go garage get diesel?'

Stunningingly good stuff for a first time father to hear.

My eldist was 11 atthe time and he and I stayed up watching V For Vendetta.

When it had ended he commented that it was a god film.

Wondering on what level he had understood it, just because of the fights and explosion or the deeper political story, I asked him if he understood it.

"Yes" he says
"What did you learn from it?" I asked
"The Government are rubbish and most of what they say is bks!" says he.

couldn't really argue with that...
