Had the latest wad of Capital Bonds delivered. I put the envelope amongst the wallets and put them on my desk amongst some reference books.

Two or three weeks later, I can't find 400-quids worth of vouchers. Looked in the place where I thought I'd left 'em... 35 card wallets, but no vouchers. Looked everywhere else - can't find 'em.

Once or twice a week, we get a cleaner. Suggested to missus that we engineer some way of bringing the missing vouchers into the conversation while cleaner is here, like, "can you keep your eyes open for a white envelope..." etc. But missus thinks this will immediately be construed as an allegation.

Capital Incentives cannot tell me whether or not the vouchers have been used as it is my duty to record the serial numbers...

Of course I can write them off and start afresh... but I know I left them with the card wallets .... ... .. . and now they're gone.

I'll re-order, but I can't settle until either find them or...

House insurance cover it? There's no easy way to accuse someone of theft so if you're going down that route just come out with it I reckon

Actually - can Capital Incentives tell you where each of their serial numbered vouchers are if spent?

This isn't as good as C2's cleaner story. Not even close.

Appealed against enforcement notice. Will also be appealing against the refusal in due course. Baby due in five weeks so had lots going on... baby's god parents: godmother is a judge. She's also helping us with the appeal by acting as our agent.

Baby = noise at all hours = 100 watt Marshall amp = large bass bin = pointing at neighbours house = unhappy neighbour = house not sellable = Job done.

Missus says that cleaner is honest because she found a £20-note wedged under the armchair cushion... but I feel she may have thought it was planted. An envelope full of 400-quids worth of vouchers can 'moved' each time. On the third move, if the alarm is raised, it's still easily found; if not... whoosh! Gone.

But I can't jump to such a conclusion just because they're missing.

So fking annoying.

Would your average man in the street/cleaner even know what 'bonds' are, and what to do with them?

Capital Bonds are gift vouchers to be used in selected retailers and travel operators.

Cleaner is doing the work as 'extra hours' to help pay for her trip to Oz.

I do smile Shops take them in place of money i.e like gift vouchers.

I'd suggest searching the house top to bottom first...then if not found, ask the cleaner if she moved them.

As long as you've searched the house and are definately sure they're missing and no-one else could have taken them - I'd suggest you ask her if she moved them to a safe place...she'll either say yes 'I put them in the bureau' for example or deny any knowledge... but from her body language you'll be able to tell.

Or ask if she threw a white envelope out with the rubbish. If she was busy or disctracted she might have not checked inside the envelope, just thrown the whole thing in the bin.

Missus is worried that the cleaner would immediately construe this as an allegation... I have searched the house - fk knows where they are. Cleaner cannot be ruled out...
