There's a load of us volunteers building a garden for my daughters school, thought it would be cool to make a time lapse movie, though I can't figure out if the Nikon D50 can do it.

Anyone know if it is possible?

Nikon call it 'Interval timer' - check out the back pages of the D50 manual to see if you can.

Your problem is probably remembering to take a pic every hour or whatever the interval is. I'm guessing if you leave the camera unattended on a tripod it will just go missing.....

doesn't the software that comes with the Nikon's allow you to remotely control the camera. I know the Canon software does allow the software to schedule taking photographs on a timed basis.

Canon also has a handy little shutter release doobry that will do that as well.

If your D50 won't do it, can you get hold of a video cam that has time lapse capability?
