So, who's going to get LBP? If so have you ordered one of the packs with a costume?

Me, I'll get it after playing the beta. I found it brilliant fun and can't wait till I try it online.

Some videos:
The calculator level. Supposedly has around 600 switches.

I am, been lucky enough to be in the Beta for the last 2 weeks (finishes today cry )

It's bloody awesome, completely exceeded my expectations. Don't get me wrong it's not for everybody but' if you've ever liked any type of platform game in the past or enjoy any type of engineering (seems odd saying that about a game) you will like this.

It's been nice to play something original for a change instead of the same old regurgitated FPS and driving cash cows. Hats of to Media Molecule for doing something different. The other thing that took me by surprise was how good the user created content is. So much so that the top rated levels from the beta are being kept for the full game.

Seems such a long 12 days until the full release.

Been playing the beta myself and can't wait to get the full version. Bit strange that the beta is finishing 12 days before release though unless the game code is complete and they just want to test the servers for online.

I don't think the review i read was refering to Mario on the Wii, i think it was more Mario circa 1980'shehe

The review said someting like "A side scrolling multi-player platform based puzzler, think Mario bros for the 21st century"

Call me a cynic but i'd not hear of it until the "Muslim outrage" story broke on the news. Possibly a clever ploy on Sonys part to get more free publicity for the game??

I thought the same. Nothing like a bit of controversy to sell a game.

yes
on the LBP offical web site it says there will be a pre launch event in Covent garden from October 10th till November 15thconfused

So it was probably due for release on November 16th anyway

I think LBP and HOME will now be released on the same day

It's similar to Mario but you also get the same tools that the devs have available to create levels yourself and share them. Sony expect this to be huge and really kick off the whole user content scene. I expect some really amazing levels to be produced like the calculator level which someone created in the beta. It was not a dev level.

Yeah this is the Marmite sticking point for me, I'm not the most creative of people and Forge in Halo 3 held no interest for me, so although I've really tried to absorb all the hype and get psyched up for LBP it still holds little to no interest to me. Guess I like my games all pre-made for me.

I felt the same before the Beta. Never really did make anything, just played around with the create tools. Thing is there are so many people that will make levels and contraptions that there will be a never ending supply of new content to play. It does seem to be made to cater to both sides of the fence.
